You would think this would be easy and maybe it is. I need to open a Linksys router case. The type with the blue/purple front and dark grey back. I've checked under the rubber feet and there are no screws. I tried using the click tabs under the rear feet but that does not appear to be what they are. Linksys is no help; not even with their online CHAT service. Searching the web revealed some suggestions but strong prying and reassembly with duct tape are not what I want to do.

The blue/purple front appears to pop off but I can find where to release the tabs or where the screws ar hidden. Have any of you opened one of these without destroying it?

If it's anything like the wireless routers, it uses snaps. here's some pix of a wireless router being taken apart. http://seattlewireless.net/~mattw/photo ... g/gallery/

an older linksys case I opened had screws hiding under a label.

It's times like these that I want to build a home xray machine...

check out the linksysinfo site - http://www.linksysinfo.org/ its got tons of stuff for people hacking linksys gear.

I have a similar and now unused wired router. I just gripped the case firmly and popped the purple part off the grey part. Only two slots on the side were holding it together. The PCB then slid out, no screws and no broken clips.

Try pinching and twisting the purple part.

Thanks for the replies. Grabbed front and back and pulled real hard; nothing. Grabbed one blue foot and one black foot on same side and pulled. SNAP! It opened easily. I guess when you expect to find fasteners and there are none, it makes things harder. Tough little case to pop the first time.

This is very helpful information, especially the pictures. I have a couple of Linksys products in that type of case and this will save me a great deal of time if I ever have to open them.
